
Judy and Hal Meeks moved to Sun City, from 40 years in the Caribbean, in June of 2000. During their long life in the Caribbean they lived in St. Thomas, St. Croix, Puerto Rico and Saba, Netherlands Antilles.
The Meeks moved to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands in 1963, one year after graduation from the University of Oregon. Hal was an on-air personality in St. Thomas on WBNB radio and television news anchor on WBNB-TV. Following that experience He was a real estate broker and advertising agency executive before returning to the States for graduate school at the Thunderbird School of International Management in Phoenix, AZ.
With his Masters degree in hand the Meeks returned to the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, where Hal spent the following 10 years in a regional management position with Standard Brands and successor Nabisco Brands. That food business experience led to 15 years when the couple owned and operated the largest food brokerage firm in the islands, selling U.S., Canadian and European food products in Bermuda, Bahamas, the Caribbean and Central America.
Hal is a Broker with Charter I Realty and has been an active real estate agent and broker in the Sun City Hilton Head market since 2001.
